ALASKA PARTNERS WITH ISLA LPG TO CUT 4,000 TONS OF CARBON EMISSIONS

Milk manufacturer Alaska Milk Corporation is undertaking a 10-year sustainability project to reduce its carbon emissions by over 4,000 tons. Under a partnership with Isla LPG Corporation, Alaska will drive sustainable milk production for the country while reducing its carbon footprint. Aside from driving lower carbon emissions, the project is also eyed to bring efficient improvement in the operations and extend the equipment life of Alaska.

IP&E CONTINUES TO BE A LEADER IN ENERGY SOLUTIONS IN THE PACIFIC

IP&E won major commercial fuel contracts lasting 2 to 5 years with private and government entities, including United Airlines, U.S. Navy and Air Force agencies in Guam, the Commonwealth Utilities Corp. in the CNMI, Guam Waterworks Authority, and Aimeliik Power Plant in Palau. In line with the global movement toward zero-emissions, Solenergy Micronesia and IP&E have completed the design engineering of rooftop solar PV systems for 6 Shell stations in Guam. Permitting and procurement is ongoing.

IT&E OBTAINED MULTI-MILLION-DOLLAR FEDERAL GRANT

The widest network in Guam and the Marianas, IT&E continues its perpetual goal of providing world-class products and customer experience. The early part of 2022 saw the relocation and redesign of its Saipan retail store and corporate sales office. Subscriber numbers are thriving with continual increase in BEAM Home Internet monthly subscriptions in Guam, exceeding target revenues. Meanwhile, monthly subscriptions for CNMI Home Internet and Guam Enterprise Internet grew as well. Work has begun on the installation of solar panels on its Guam headquarters as IT&E sets out to do its part for the environment.

NEW LPG APPLICATION LAUNCHED BY IP&E GBA

IP&E GBA successfully launched its new LPG application, IPEGBA, to replace the old Esso LPG version on March 24, 2022. The total number of downloads in the first month has already exceeded that of its predecessor. The application introduced new features such as online service booking and meter reading which provided customers with greater convenience and enhanced IP&E GBA’s service level. The group also promoted its new customer membership system to establish a database for further e-business development.

ILC WAREHOUSE 2 CONSTRUCTION COMPLETED

Isla Logistics Corporation (ILC) recently completed and launched its new, state-of-the-art warehouse facility named ILC Warehouse 2. This 2-floor structure is strategically located in front of the existing ILC Warehouse and offers a total warehouse area of approximately 10,000 sqm with 34 offices. The facility has two freight elevators that can carry a load of up to 6 tons each and a ramp that leads to the 2nd level. E-commerce company, Shopee Express (SPX), which is occupying 80% of ILC’s existing warehouse, has expanded its operations to this new warehouse.

18MWp SOLAR POWER PLANT IN PAMPANGA COMPLETED BY SOLENERGY

Solenergy Systems Inc. recently completed the construction of the 18.1MWp solar power plant of RASLAG Corporation, a solar company undergoing IPO and with plans to add 250MW of renewable energy in the Philippines in the next 10 years. Awaiting final coordination from the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP), the solar plant in Bical, Pampanga is scheduled to commence feeding into the grid in May 2022.

PACIFICPOINTS IS SKYROCKETING TO SUCCESS

Now just over a year old, the loyalty program has experienced promising growth with more than 50,000 activated accounts and more than 75 million total points rewarded. Earning transactions count grew by 275% from last year and the program experienced a 313% lift for points redemption transactions. Members are recognizing the value of their points with a 348% increase in redeemed points. PACIFICPOINTS is also making a lasting impression in Guam and the Marianas, earning a place in the March/April issue of Guam Business Magazine’s 2021 Advertisements that Aced.

IP&E GBA RECEIVES “CARING COMPANY” AWARD FURTHER BOOSTING ESG CREDENTIALS

IP&E GBA has been awarded the “Caring Company” by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service in recognition of its sustainable ESG development and efforts. Due to the challenges brought by the pandemic, IP&E GBA, together with its distributor, supplied LPG for the outdoor heaters of a hospital to keep the patients, who were situated outside the facility, warm from the cold weather. The group also demonstrated its commitment in reducing carbon footprint by managing various environmental measures and promoting green solutions to its customers.

XISSCO IT TRANSITION MILESTONES COMPLETED

The XISSCO 365 Migration was completed on March 25, 2022. All XISSCO users are now fully migrated into the CITADEL network. Also, the Go-Live of the XISSCO NAV ERP System took place on April 11, 2022. The ERP System is now consolidated with the current MHI NAV ERP System. Its implementation covers the XISSCO business processes under Finance, Treasury, Accounts Payable, Billing, Collections, Procurement and Payroll.

ISLA ACHIEVES 22 MILLION MAN-HOURS SAFETY MILESTONE

Another important safety milestone has been achieved by Isla LPG Corporation as it recently reached the 22 Million Man-Hours Without Lost Time Incident milestone on April 5, 2022. This achievement is a testament to the company’s commitment in ensuring a culture of safety and creating a habit of excellence among its employees. Isla believes that such HSSE milestone has been attained through the collective efforts of the employees, contractors, haulers, and other business partners; and by keeping in mind the belief that ‘No Harm to People’ comes before anything else.

IP&E SUPPLIES FUEL TO THE MILITARY SEALIFT COMMAND IN SAIPAN AND OTHER VESSELS IN THE PACIFIC

IP&E’s commercial business further took off with its delivery of 248,000 gallons of fuel to the Military Sealift Command’s USNS Watkins and over 100,000 gallons of fuel to various navy and research vessels passing through the Pacific in June 2022. IP&E also supplied more than 2 million gallons of diesel fuel to the Guam Power Authority in April and May. On the retail side, IP&E captured 44% share of the market this 2022, an increase from 42% last year. Last November 2021, IP&E secured approval to be a retailer for the Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP) by the USDA, a program valued over US$100 million annually in Guam.

IT&E STRENGTHENS BONDS AND WINS CONTRACTS

IT&E continues to collaborate and innovate through its partnership with SK Telecom, whose leadership visited Guam and the Marianas the week of May 18. Second quarter was a successful time for securing government contracts, with IT&E CNMI winning a multi-million-dollar contract from the CNMI Public School System for laptops, tablets, and accessories. Meanwhile, IT&E Guam scored a significant contract from Guam International Airport Authority in partnership with Quantum Technology Group for information technology and financial management system infrastructure. In line with its dedication to world class customer service, IT&E Guam reopened its completely transformed retail store in Micronesia Mall, one of the most visited shopping destinations on the island.

XISCO SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETES THE “GO LIVE” FOR REPUBLIC CEMENT

XISCO recently secured a partnership with Southeast Asia’s largest and leading building materials company, Republic Cement, on July 1, 2022. XISCO will be providing cleaning, technical, and ground support operations, among others, to Republic Cement. With its highly experienced service professionals and best industry practices, XISCO is confident in growing this new business partnership for the years to come.

ISLA LPG COMMISSIONS ANIBONG PLANT EXPANSION

With the continued increase in demand in the southern islands of the Philippines, Isla LPG expands the Anibong plant to significantly double its current storage capacity from 400 MT to 900 MT. Given current run-out challenges often complicated further by adverse weather conditions, delays at load port, and clashes in vessel berthing schedules, said expansion will help ease up plant operations in meeting the ever-changing demands of the LPG market in the southern region. The project is poised to help Isla keep its business afloat amidst a very competitive area where volume has continuously been growing by more than 10% over the last three years.

SOLENERGY’S 115MW PROJECT AND 500KW SYSTEM EXPANSION

Solenergy Systems Inc. is now approaching 60% completion on their 115MW solar project in Baras, Rizal. Executed in partnership with project developer MGEN-GBP, the system will be the largest solar plant connected to the Meralco franchise area and is due for completion in Q4 of this year. Solenergy was also awarded phase 2 of the rooftop system expansion of International School Manila (ISM). The project, at almost 500kW, supports ISM’s commitment to environmental stewardship amongst private schools in the Philippines.

PACIFICPOINTS MEMBERSHIP RISES AND RISES AND RISES

As of June 2022, the number of PACIFICPOINTS activated accounts reached more than 58,000. Points earning transaction counts grew by 136% from the same period last year and there was a 242% lift in points redemption transactions. The number of points awarded increased by 138% and 254% for redeemed points. This upward trend is expected to continue as the program adds more partners in 2022, starting with the partnership with UNO-Go, an online food ordering and delivering platform. From June to September of this year, members can redeem PACIFICPOINTS for discounts on delivery from more than 80 restaurants in Guam.

FUJITA PROPERTY GUAM INC. SECURES 2 NEW TENANTS, LOOKS FORWARD TO MORE RENOVATIONS

Fujita Property Guam Inc. welcomed the Guam Department of Administration Relief Center and Guam Ethics Commission as new tenants in its Hagåtña property, to be called Citadel Plaza. The building now has a total of six tenants, including Bank of Hawaii. Additionally, the architectural design for CPL Pacific headquarters of approximately 10,000 square feet has been finalized with renovations expected to be completed by early 2023. It will house the finance, human resources, and administrative teams of CPL Pacific, and the operations teams of IT&E and IP&E.

SOLENERGY MICRONESIA COMPLETES GUAM TELCO, PLANS FOR MORE

Solenergy Micronesia continues to build momentum as it breaks into the renewable energy industry in the region. Starting with internal projects for its sister companies, Solenergy Micronesia successfully completed the installation of 480 solar panels on the IT&E Harmon headquarters rooftop in May. In its first month of operation, the system produced a total of 29,636 kWh to power the telco’s administrative and network operations, resulting in savings of US$9,370 for that month. Completion of solar panels in 6 Shell stations in Guam is expected in the third quarter of this year. Meanwhile, the energy solutions provider is in the early stages of developing a project in Rota.

ISLA LAUNCHES NEW CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

Solane’s technology maximization initiative has already come a long way since its inception two years ago. By the second quarter of 2022, Isla already developed its own Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system which is linked to its e-commerce platform. Apart from providing reliable service to customers, the new CRM will also offer greater flexibility through web ordering platform integration, e-voucher acceptability, and store app availability in major mobile app providers to better serve the needs of the domestic market. In terms of cost effectiveness, the project is also expected to result in PHP2 million savings on annual licensing.

IP&E GBA’S E-SHOP IS NOW OPEN

IP&E GBA’s E-shop has officially alunched on its revamped website and reported the first E-income on trial run. In addition to its new look with enriched features and corporate image, the new website also increases interaction and connectivity with stakeholders through continuous corporate information update. The journey will keep moving with IP&E GBA’s unremitting efforts on brand building and e-services experience enhancement.

CGS PROMOTES “WE CULTURE” AND GROWS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION

36 new members have joined CGS since May 2022. XISCO migrated its 30 finance employees to CGS. IP&G also collaborated with CGS to ensure the smooth migration of 6 members performing road transport invoicing. CGS continues to promote engagement & learning activities to empower every member of the group with the #WECULTURE. It recently concluded its #WESUMMIT whereby CGS employees participated in outreach program, teambuilding, recognitions and awards, and trainings. All these aided CGS to achieve improving customer satisfaction rate of 84% in 2022 1H.
